Do’s and Don’ts of Music Festival Fashion

Music Festival Season has officially begun. But aside from the awesome line-ups, these festivals have become the ultimate destination for Woodstock inspired fashion. So let your inner hippie run wild with our list of Do’s and Don’ts for Music Festival Fashion.

DO frolic in a dress

It’s all about the flowy sundress on the summer music scene. With maxi dresses hitting big again this season, you’re sure to turn heads in your long, neon dress. If shorter alternatives are more your style, t-shirt and tank dresses are perfect for hot, crowded days.

DO pack your cut-off denim shorts

It seems that this summer, the more cut up your shorts are, the better. While you can purchase a pair of cut-off denims anywhere, the best part of this look is that you can personalize it. Take a pair of old jeans and get to cutting. Adding some holes and patches make the look stand out even more.

DO wear a hat

A hat is a must if you’re planning on spending the day in the sun. Big floppy hats are the way to go if you’re trying to protect your face, but if you’re going for a more fashionable look, a fedora is your best bet.

DON’T get caught with a head dress

Feathers might be a major trend right now, but feather head dresses are not. Vanessa Hudgens made that mistake this weekend at Coachella. If you are trying to channel your inner Indian, try fringes and feather earrings.

DON’T unleash your inner ‘Hammer’

MC Hammer must be more influential than I thought because I’ve been seeing elaborately patterned pants everywhere. The bright, psychedelic patterns might fit the hippie trend, but I for one am not a fan. However, if you find yourself in need of an 80s flashback, at least use subtle colors.

DON’T let a flower overpower your head

With hippie fashion comes flower power. That’s easy to see. However, your don’t want to let the flowers have all the power. If you’re looking for a floral look, try a headband or even a smaller flower. If the flower is too big, it will take away from the rest of your outfit.

Though summer music festivals seem to be an excuse for people to wear as little clothing as possible, keep in mind that you should still bring a sense of style.

Be Bold with Neon Accessories

Hot pink is trending! And we don’t mean on Twitter. I’m sure all you fashionistas out there have noticed that neon color blocking is everywhere. It’s time to embrace the trend and beat the heat, this summer, with neon accessories.

Wearing neon indicates that you’re fearless and ready for anything. There are many different ways to work the neon trend so that it’s not overpowering. Be bold and beautiful by following our bright ideas and tips.

Brighten up your little black dress

Neons pair well with neutrals like white, tan and especially black. This summer, change the look of your classic LBD with a splash of neon coloring. By adding a bright accessory to your dress, you’re sure to turn heads.

Be bold with neon nail polish

Not sure if you’re ready for such a bold statement? Start out slow with neon nail polish. No matter what you’re wearing, your nails will be your best accessory. Focus on these awesome nail colors: tangerine, yellow, turquoise and of course, hot pink.

Use and abuse neon clutches

Neon clutches and bags bring life to any outfit. Theses fabulous accessories work from day to night. Adding a bright orange or pink clutch to an earthy ensemble adds immediate edge.

Much like makeup, a little goes a long way. Keep that in mind when working the neon trend and you’ll be bold in no time!

Summer Trends for 2012

Summer finally came to the UK this week!!! I’m sorry if you’re already bored with me talking harping on about it all of the time but, honestly, in the UK you can never quite be sure when summer will arrive, or when it will just as quickly and surprisingly disappear again! However, it seems an ideal time to be discussing this week’s Friend Friday topic: summer trends. Katy has asked us this week, what trends are you loving for the upcoming season?
I have already written about some of my favourite trends for Spring/Summer 2012 so in this post I intend to take my two favourite trends for this season: pastels and prints.
The pastel trend was seen on many of the catwalks for SS12, including at Prada, Jaeger London and PPQ. The pretty candy colours allow the wearer to stick to shapes and styles with which they are already familiar and play around with the shade instead. This is a great trend for work-wear – simply switch your usual white shirt for a pastel blouse and you’re summer office ready.

Prints are synonymous with the summer. Every year floral prints are all over the high street for our holiday wardrobe. This season though, it is all about clashing prints – as seen at Mary Katrantzou and at Clements Ribeiro. This is one trend that we will surely all be rocking on our holidays this summer?

I’ll show you soon (follow me on Twitter or Instagram – username on both is @sugarandspiceSG – to see the results even sooner!).
For now, why not shop the trend for yourself:

5 Summer Fashion Trends to Try No Matter Your Size or Budget!

Summer is right around the corner—is your wardrobe prepared? I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for summer (which may or may not mean I need to get a life) and have already been envisioning every single outfit I’ll be wearing during the 90+ day season.

But with SO much out there to chose from, having a little handy guide to help you sort out what to get is helpful, right? We’re totally on the same wavelength then because I put together a list of 5 summer fashion trends you totally need to try no matter your size or budget. I even help you out more by providing widgets you can shop directly from to get your summer fashion fix. Check it out!

Image via stylebomb.net

1. Neon. Can I just go ahead and admit that I’m super obsessed with the neon trend and that I hope it never ever goes away? I’m talking neon nails, shoes, watches, sneakers, shorts, undies—-I want it all! Plus it’s such an easy trend to indulge in.

Think neons don’t flatter your coloring? Hey, we all can’t look good in every incarnation of a color, but you CAN work in colors that aren’t your best by wearing them away from the face.

My neon vs neon moments…on the left with NARS Thakoon collection polish on Koliary, on the right with CND Shellac. La Mer Collection neon watch.

2. Statement Necklace. So say you’re so over all the clothes in your wardrobe, but you don’t necessarily have the time nor money to just do an overhaul and buy all new duds. How else do you jazz things up without going broke? The statement necklace! It works on everyone and adds some variety to your wardrobe.

I added a By Malene Birger leather necklace to a nothing special outfit consisting of an ASOS blazer, H&M tank, and black skinny jeans I’ve had since forever and all of a sudden, things get interesting.

3. Prints. Whether you use them to accent your solids or mixed them together, prints are big this summer. And within reason—the season’s biggest prints like floral, polka dots, and tribal add an element of interest that updates just about any look.

4. Tangerine. It is the color of the year after all! This bold, punchy hue is dying to be in your summer wardrobe whether it’s in the form of a blouse, dress, shorts, shoes, bangles, bag–well, I’m sure you get it…lol.

5. Sporty Chic. Who knew those terrible gym shorts we wore in the 80s would come back and be fashionable? I’m kind of really digging the sporty chic trend mostly because it’s the way I like to dress most of the time (thereby why I am still single). You don’t have to be dressed like Sue Sylvester from head-to-toe to indulge in this trend—you can simply add in elements like the cool new high tops that have hit the scene or pretty much check out anything Alexander Wang.

I’m all in with the athletic trend—I totally rock these red Adidas high tops and often.

And these Alexander Wang sandals I spotted at the Barneys New York Outlet at Tanger Outlets were so going to be mine if they didn’t bite my toes. *sigh*. Hopefully a more fitting pair will show up on The Outnet.

Which summer trends are you most excited about? Let’s talk ALL about it in the comments!

Young designers, new trends on runway

The fashion wares of aspiring college designers will be displayed alongside the likes of VanJean, Britton’s, M Boutique and Bohemian when the University of South Carolina’s USC Fashion Week kicks off Monday for four days on campus.

Now in its fourth year, the week will showcase young designers whose works will be featured during two nights of fashion shows as well as a charity benefit and symposium.

“Students are able to show a fresher and clearer perspective on style and fashion because college is a place where free thinking and individuality are encouraged,” said Melissa Karl, president of the USC Fashion Board, which is hosting the event.

And organizers are promising that guests searching for anything from a black dress style to a stunning piece of jewelry will find them among the new collections that will be on display this week.

“These shows, especially our Student Designer Competition and Sponsor Show, will showcase new spring styles and trends and display the views of students as to how they think and see fashion,” Karl said.

At the heart of those shows will be the works of the student designers, who all have been provided models, makeup and hair stylists to present their creations to potential buyers, shop owners and potential customers.

USC junior retail major Matthew Teague is among the week’s featured designers.

Teague, who is studying fashion merchandising, recalls first making “doll clothes” for his grandmother’s vintage clothespins on her turn-of-the-century Singer treadle sewing machine when he was 6.

“A few years later, I remember creating elaborate creations out of blankets, towels, and safety pins,” he said. “I never thought that those Depression-era clothespins and awkward, floppy blankets would actually segue into what would be my major at 19, and a full-time obsession at 21.”

Teague’s featured works include clothing items and several jewelry pieces. He said he’s excited to see the diversity of offerings in this year’s show.

“A few years ago, we saw repurposed shower curtains and bedsheets reminiscent of Columbia’s Runaway Runway and last fall we saw taffeta and feather cocktail dresses from Carol Copeland and tulle skirts from Lilly Greenhalgh,” he said. “What are the newest ideas? That’s what I’m so excited to find out.”

And he’s hoping the show will have a favorable impact on the college community.

“I feel like we are rather out of tune with fashion. And it’s a sad thing really. I may not always dress as I do for a fashion show or a job interview, but I always try to look presentable and approachable,” he said. “I wish that more students would evaluate their dress and take more pride in themselves. We’re at one of the best schools in America. I want us to look like it.”

Karl, however, doesn’t think that fashion is lost on the average student.

“I think that every student is tuned in to fashion in their own way,” she said. “Whether they are a big fan of the preppy look or are more into new-age grunge, everyone has their own

Five spring trends to try right now

Pastels

I am a firm believer of following the fashion trend that suits one's body and personality, and not being a fashion victim. But this season, I am seeing some trends anybody and everybody can follow, and if done tastefully, everybody can pull off.

1. Pastels - Spring is the season of color. And bright colors are always in vogue during this season. But if you are not yet ready to explore the color wheel in all its deep shades, try delicate pastels. Try a single hued pastel dress or color block with two or more different shades for a day to night look.

2. A Hint of Neon - Neon is 'the' trend for Spring 2012 and is going to stay here for the good part of the summer too. A head to toe neon is difficult to pull off- unless you are Nicki Minaj - but a hint of neon in your outfit, accessories even in nails can liven up your look. I love neon handbags and necklaces for their color and style impact.

3. Peplum - Peplum is the style where an extra flounce is sewn into the waistline of a fitted sheath, skirt or a jacket to create an hour glass figure. This old Hollywood glamour style has taken the fashion world by storm this year. No matter what size or shape you are, peplum style outfits always flatter the body.

4. Colored Denim - This trend has been there for past couple of seasons, but this Spring, colored denim is everywhere- from celebrities to fashion bloggers to the sidewalks of the City. Even Duchess of Cambridge came on board with this trend during her visit to London's Olympic Park!

5. Print Mixing - Print mixing this Spring/Summer is what color blocking was last fall/winter! There are no rules and no limits. Mixing tribal patterns with botanical prints, polka dots with florals and stripes with abstract prints create unique, fun styles that will leave you looking fresh all season long!

Which trend(s) are you currently sporting/most likely to try?

2012 Fashion Trends: Neutral Shoes

Nude shoes are one of spring's biggest trends.

SOURCE: GETTY IMAGES

Nude shoes as worn on Malin Ackerman (left) and Kristin Davis are one of the biggest 2012 fashion trends.

Suddenly, it's chic to go nude. In shoes, that is.

One of the biggest 2012 fashion trends is neutral shoes and they are flooding stores and red carpets alike.

The allure of neutral-colored shoes is that they mix back wonderfully with citrus brights (like Kristin Davis is wearing) as well as look modern when worn with red (instead of wearing black shoes.)

Another big benefit of neutral-colored shoes is that they make your legs look longer. Strappy nude sandals (photo, left) give your entire outfit a breezy, barefoot look so they are a natural for sundresses, white, lace and eyelet this season.

Although you may be tempted to go with a bright polish on your toes to play off the neutral, keep your toes neutral also to keep the whole foot in neutral territory (there are lots of beige polishes, as well as light metallics that will work.)

Fashion Trends: Taking it to the streets

How do you navigate the minefield of this winter's key style trends without treading on a fashion bomb? Melissa Kent guides the way.

If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so, too, is fashion - an adage to bear in mind when contemplating its offerings this winter. Take the penchant for clashing prints, a retina-searing look that throws together florals, stripes and polka dots in a riot of colour that is one part crazy, two parts fabulous. Some will find it a refreshing rejection of the fashion rule book; others will take one peek and retire to a darkened room with a migraine.

And what about the latest catwalk craze, the pyjama suit? Yes, that's right. PJs. Jim jams. Jarmies. Pyjamas - or matching shirt and trouser suits, to be technical about it - are having a fashion moment outside the bedroom, a look that is undoubtedly one of this season's wackiest, but welcomed nonetheless, by those too lazy to get dressed in the morning. So, let's get this winter's key looks off the catwalk and into the real world.

PYJAMA SUITS
How, indeed, does one wear an outfit that looks like it belongs under a doona or teamed with uggs for an emergency dash to the shops? Unlikely as it may seem, the pyjamas-as-leisurewear trend is shaping up as a bona-fide look this winter, featuring in collections from Stella McCartney and Dolce&Gabbana to Gorman, Limedrop and Bianca Spender. While those in the know may realise you're wearing a Stella McCartney paisley-print shirt and trousers - worth the price of a small car - to everyone else it looks like you've forgotten to get dressed.

White Suede peplum dress, $360.

So how do you wear a pyjama suit without feeling like Hugh Hefner? According to Kristy Lawrence, whose label Flannel includes a floral version in creamy silk, a certain swagger is required.

"There is a danger of looking like you're wearing pyjamas, and you do need to carry it with confidence," she says. "I would keep my hair and accessories very clean and neutral so the outfit spoke for itself. Simple but glamorous." Designer Amanda McCarthy, who included three shirt-and-pants suits in her Leonard St. range this season, says a pair of killer heels or ankle boots can take the look out of the bedroom.

Stylist Franco Schifilliti, however, is worried. "Look, Sofia Coppola looked really chic in Dolce&Gabbana's pyjama suit in Vogue but unless you have her pedigree, it's something that should stay in the bedroom," he says. "I don't think we will be seeing this on the streets too often. It's for your diehards. I could be wrong, but it does look like you've just woken up."

Arthur Galan Mongolian fur vest, $449; tie-side slouch blouse, $279; stretch leather pant, $698.

Stylizit.com.au's Caaren Hulme concurs. "It looks great on models on the catwalks but it requires real attitude for everyone else," she says.

If you're not brave enough to carry off the top-to-toe matching shirt-and-pant suit, you may like to dilute the look by pairing statement-making pants with neutral accents or a block-colour blazer for a more wearable, everyday approach.

PEPLUMS
What, you ask? Good question. A peplum, for the sartorially ignorant, is an extra swathe of material around the waist in the form of a structured frill or flounce, usually attached to the bottom of a bodice or jacket.

Jigsaw orange sleeveless dress, $299; Harley leather bag.

When they began popping up on the European catwalks last year, few would have guessed they'd be taking the high street by storm this winter. After all, a trend that makes your hips look big is hardly every woman's dream wardrobe addition. But that's fashion for you and thanks to directional designers such as Louis Vuitton's Marc Jacobs and Balmain's Christophe Decarnin, this 1940s silhouette is back in the spotlight and destined to be a big trend. While high-street chain stores and designers have embraced the peplum, Schifilliti says it should be approached with caution.

"I'd call this a tread-carefully trend," he says. "This is not a look for pear-shaped figures or anyone with heavy hips. It works best on slim shapes and gives a defined waist to a rectangular body shape."

Yeojin Bae, whose winter collection features elegant cocktail frocks with streamlined peplums, says it works best for most figures teamed with a pencil skirt. "I think they're a really flattering way to give women shape, especially the waistline," she says. "I've done peplums before and one of the reasons I've come back to it is it's really beautiful on the female body. And there is a level of comfort when you have a peplum on your waistline, especially when you're sitting down. I'm always looking for ways to create a really beautiful feminine silhouette, while at the same time, making women feel comfortable."

Leonard St. Rock It leather jacket in sea green, $580.

A trend that does not require us to suck our tummy in has our vote.

COLOURED FAUX FUR
Just when we thought fashion had finally cleaned up its act and ditched fur, here it is again, making a comeback on international catwalks. Last season Louis Vuitton had kangaroo, Marni had hamster and Wooyoungmi had beaver. When Gucci showcased a luxuriant collection of furs in burgundy, mustard, camel and teal, it was only a matter of time before local designers followed suit and trotted out their own ranges. Fortunately for all involved, it's mostly of the faux variety. At the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival last month, coloured faux fur was everywhere from Arthur Galan and Manning Cartell to Joveeba and Arabella Ramsay. You can embrace this trend wholeheartedly with a fur coat or gilet, or just give it a small nod with a scarf, collar or fur trimmed-coat. While it can add warmth and a touch of luxury to an outfit, Hulme says petite women should be wary. "It's very theatrical and adds real depth but small women can be overwhelmed," she says.

"They're fun," Schifilliti says. "They're obviously fake but it proves that shaggy faux fur lives on long after the hippie look has faded from the spotlight."

Tony Bianco Kavana Magenta kid boot, $199.95.

And here's another fun faux fur fad to watch out for: ear muffs are tipped to be big this season. You have been warned.

LEATHER
As with most trends, less is more and you can get the leather look this season without committing to a black leather jumpsuit (although Ellery is doing a particularly sophisticated version, should it take your fancy). If you'd prefer to mix a smaller leather element into your outfit, look for a skirt, jacket or even a dress. Some of the best this season include Flannel's patchwork mod-style tunic dress, Gorman's soft pencil skirt and Joveeba's canary-yellow mini with suede geometric details.

Flannel's Lawrence is renowned for her use of neutral leathers in simple, flattering cuts. "Flannel really is about using a variety of textures each season and one is leather," she says. "I love leather because it ages beautifully, it smells and feels wonderful. It's a lovely, clean fabric that goes with just about everything."

Schifilliti says leather should be treated as an investment. "Quality leather is not cheap, so forget that it's going to cost $800 and think of how many times you'll wear it over the years," he says. "Go for a beautiful classic leather blazer because there are so many ways you can wear it. I really have a reservation about leather pants.

Unless you have a figure like Jennifer Hawkins or are a faded rock star, then don't go for leather pants." Hulme suggests layering your leather with winter woolies such as a knitted scarf or textured opaque tights for a softer, cosier look. "Or if you want to be really dramatic, team it with leather boots," she says. "It depends on your mood."

PRINTED BLAZERS
Best don your darkest sunglasses: last season's dalliance with colour blocking has given way to its crazier cousin: clashing prints. And the wackier, the better. This winter you can get away with a floral jacket over a spotted blouse over striped pants and no one will laugh in your face (although they may snigger behind your back).

Printed blazers are the key to this look and there are plenty to choose from. Lisa Ho blazers are festooned with elegant floral patterns and tiger prints; Zara has polka dots, animal prints and zebra stripes; Moss and Spy's 1960s-inspired floral-print coat dress could be direct from the Mad Men wardrobe department. While it can instantly add a dash of sophistication to a cold-weather ensemble, if you do choose to team your printed blazer with clashing prints, stick to one colour scheme, Schifilliti warns.

TANGERINE
If ever a colour was going to divide a nation, it would be orange. Some love it, some hate it. Sadly for those who believe it belongs in a vegetable patch, it's everywhere this season. Pumpkin hues preside at Cue, Veronika Maine and Country Road, carrot-coloured dresses adorn the racks at Jigsaw and Sportsgirl, while designer labels from Manning Cartell to Bianca Spender are aglow in every shade from mandarin to neon tangerine. The problem with orange, according to Hulme, is that only 17 per cent of the population can wear it: redheads. It's all to do with skin tone.

"They're the only ones with enough vibrancy in their palette to carry it off," she says. "Tangerine is a really warm vibrant colour and if you don't have vibrancy in your own palette - in your hair colour, your eye colour and your skin colour - you really struggle with all these strong, vibrant fashions."

Rather than follow the perennial "just buy an orange scarf" rule, try calming down the effect with some accessories such as gloves, tights or a leather bag. Or even a coral lipstick, says The Circlefashion presenter Anthea O'Connor. "If the idea of orange is just too frightening, that's a great way to try the trend without overinvesting," she says. Schifilliti adds: "Many people may not want to fork out for an orange coat or jacket, but just add it in a scarf to make the whole outfit zing."

COLOURED WEDGE BOOTS
Ugly shoes are having a moment and it's best we step aside, lest we get our toes squashed. Aside from Prada's snigger-inducing "flatforms" and Acne's clumsy-clown high-heeled brogues, on a local level the footpaths are being abused by myriad coloured wedge-heeled boots.

With an aesthetic displaying all the grace of a Lego brick, these clumsy-looking shoes seem deliberately designed to cut off the ankle at the least flattering point. Hulme agrees: "You're putting yourself all out of proportion because the eye is drawn down to your shoes," she says.

"If you must wear them, it's better to go with a nude- or caramel-coloured one that doesn't cut the leg off at the ankle."

Thandie Newton: Trends make me anxious

Thandie Newton
Thandie Newton's "palms sweat" when she thinks about following the latest trends.

The actress is famed for her natural beauty and understated style, and prefers to steer clear of fad fashions. Thandie thinks people should chose clothes that suit them, rather than sporting pieces just because they're in fashion.

"The idea of following trends makes my palms sweaty," she explained to People. "I think that we have all these wonderful things available, [and] you have to find whatever speaks to you in terms of style - something that allows you to then speak to the world."

Thandie is a mother of two. The 39-year-old star says her daily beauty routine is very low maintenance due to her chaotic schedule.

"If I'm getting ready for the school run and I look in the mirror and I just look exhausted, I will get some Julie Hewett cheek rogue," she revealed.

"I'll put that on the apples of my cheeks to make it look as though I've had a wonderful run in the morning - even though I haven't!"

The raven-haired star's no-nonsense approach to style and beauty also extends to the red carpet. Thandie sometimes does her own make-up and hair for public appearances.

"If my favourites are busy, or I'm in another country and they're not around, I'm doing my own," she smiled.

Following the lead of L.A. Fashion Week, Gorilla Marketing is taking corporate apparel and branded clothing to new fashion heights. Gone are the days of plain business attire and logo polo shirts. Today, companies can emblazon their brand name on designer shirts, cotton tees, sweatshirts, lightweight jackets, and ball caps.

Companies can create their own celebrity style by embellishing promo merchandise with embroidery, screen printing, glitter, flocking, rhinestones and other design elements.

L.A. Fashion Week revealed that summer trends will be full of brilliant jewel tones, metallics, sheer fabrics with transparent layers, and vintage wear with sleek, clean lines. Furthermore, eco fashion is leading the way for companies to be a part of the environmental solution while promoting their brand.

Gorilla Marketing President, Chris Arranaga suggests, "Providing trendy clothing that keeps recipients cool during hot summer months while looking chic is a fantastic approach to marketing. Current fashion trends embrace uniqueness and that opens the door for a lot of creativity and one-of-a-kind designs."

Summer months are ideal for making use of organic cotton and other types of eco-friendly fabrics such as bamboo and organic hemp. Combining bright colors or using metallic embroidery thread is a great way for companies to share marketing messages while providing sustainable fashion.

"Many companies are getting involved with eco-fashion to brand their business as a trendsetter", states Arranaga. "Consumers appreciate businesses that express an interest in environmental concerns, so pairing summer fashion with eco-friendly fabrics gives owners an advantage over competitors."

Companies don't need to hire a fashion designer or buy clothing that is made for runway models. Instead, summertime promotional apparel should be comfortable and cool, yet trendy enough that recipients will want to wear it on a regular basis.

"Summer months are the ideal time for supplying promotional clothing to clients due to increased visibility", states Arranaga. "People are out and about partaking in all kinds of activities, which makes the season perfect for putting marketing messages on customers' backs."

Gorilla Marketing offers a superb selection of summer apparel fabrics in bright colors and trendy styles. Their experienced consultants can help companies design unique and trendsetting apparel that embraces their brand.

What To Wear With Chinos

What to wear with chinos; an expert guide
how-to-wear-chinos
What to wear with chinos, eh?  Well, we love chinos here!  In fact, we’d like to declare them the perfect trouser. More lightweight and comfortable than jeans, chinos are perfect for lazy, laidback days… but add a pair of heels or a smart shirt and you’ve got yourself a look fit for the dancefloor.
These multitasking wardrobe must-haves are top of our wishlist for Spring/Summer 2012. We’ll be wearing them with a sharp blazer, or a colour clash tee… wait, why don’t we just show you? If you love the look but you’re unsure of exactly what to wear with chinos, take a look at what we’ve put together for you!
What to Wear with Chinos – Girls
If you’re wondering how to wear chinos, girls, never fear! We’ve put together some mix and match items, and these navy blue chinos are quickly becoming our all-time faves. The dark colour and skinny fit make them totally figure flattering – we think they look great paired with dusky pinks as a nod to this season’s romantic pastels trend. Wear with a floaty blouse, structured blazer, statement jewels and super high heels for serious style points.
What to Wear with Chinos – Guys
It’s all about the cool blues! Our White Label Classic Chinos are the perfect shade of petrol blue – wear them with a colour pop tee for maximum effect. Then just add espadrilles and this season’s Snap Watch to accessorise like a boss.  If you don’t know what to wear with chinos, it’s simple – classics looks work and so do the latest on-trend pieces.

What to wear at a festival

We’ve booked our tickets (after two hours, numerous website crashes and three hissy fits), sorted our travel and unpacked the tent, so now all we need to know is what to wear at a festival. And that’s the fun bit!
Yeah, yeah, so there are a few months to go yet, but it never hurts to be prepared. That’s why we’ve put together a guide to your festival wardrobe, whether you’re heading to Creamfields or V. Take a look…
summer festival clothing
Wear for: Leeds and Reading Festival

To see: Foo Fighters, Florence and The Machine, Kasabian

If you’re heading to an indie festival this summer, a cool and casual outfit will ensure you fit right in among all those laidback muso types. A pair of ripped denim shorts, baggy vest and straw hat are all you need to get the look.

Festival Fashion Tip: Keep your feet sweet! Muddy fields are no place for flip flop – protect your toes with these cute and quirky hi top trainers.
Wear for: Creamfields
To see: David Guetta, Example, Deadmau5
Give us a killer baseline and some neon facepaint – we’re ready to dance! If you’re at a dance or rave festival this summer, you need some neon – go for a colour clash with oranges and pinks… and don’t forget the statement shades!
Festival Fashion Tip: A lightweight cotton hoody like this one from White Label will keep you warm when the sun goes down. And it comes in loads of colours too – bonus!
Wear for: Wireless Festival
To see: Drake, Jessie J, Rihanna
We know it’s not particularly ‘cool’, but we LOVE pop festivals. All that fun music requires a fun outfit, and this printed playsuit is perfect. Team with these navy plimsolls for dry days, but take your wellies just in case…
Festival Fashion Tip: Wear your cross-body bag on your front so you can see your valuables at all times – you wouldn’t want to lose your camera before the headliner comes on!
Are you going to a festival this summer? What will you be wearing?
